‘Main Street’ GOP group unveils platform with hopes of boosting moderates
The Republican Main Street Partnership, a group that supports moderate GOP candidates, is releasing on Tuesday a five-point policy platform ahead of the midterms that it hopes can boost candidates in swing districts and grow its influence in the House Republican Conference. More than 60 sitting members are part of the partnership and its associated Main Street caucus, with its aim to increase that number to more than 100. The group hopes that the agenda can help moderate GOP candidates as the midterm election season kicks into high gear.
